Biographical Summary

Dr. Gowdey has 30 years experience in dentistry and is CEO and founder of the Institute of Esthetic Dentistry, Inc., a multi-specialty dental practice in El Dorado Hills, CA.

He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1981.

He received a Masters of Arts (MA) Degree in Education and Counseling Psychology from the University of the Pacific in 1994.

For 12 years, he was a faculty member at the University of the Pacific Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where he earned ‘distinguished faculty’ status during his tenure.

Dr. Gowdey was Executive Director and founder of Community Dental Care, a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping people with HIV and AIDS, and served in this capacity for 13 years (1994-2007).

Dr. Gowdey has a high regard for art and brings this passion to the dental profession. He enjoys esthetic and cosmetic dentistry and acts as the treatment planning coordinator for the group of specialists at the Institute of Esthetic Dentistry. He also plans and directs the continuing education programs that are organized through the multi-specialty dental practice.
